Bury: Passé, Présent et Futur; Past, Present & Future

Pour la saison 2026-2027, le mentorat et les ateliers gratuits seront proposés en ligne, par e-mail et via Zoom. Les participants seront également encouragés à prendre part au premier concours d’écriture de Bury Lit, qui se déroulera de décembre 2026 à avril 2027 (les détails seront communiqués le mois prochain). Tous les programmes seront dispensés en anglais et en français.

Les trois catégories de la saison — pour le mentorat, les ateliers et le concours — sont résumées par l’intitulé du programme : « Bury: passé, présent et futur ».

Dans la catégorie « Bury : passé », les auteurs bénéficieront d’un accompagnement pour rédiger des mémoires ou des biographies, faisant revivre la culture et les récits d’autrefois de Bury et de sa région. Pour la catégorie « Bury : présent », ils seront guidés dans la création de poésie contemporaine reflétant le visage actuel de Bury. Enfin, pour la catégorie « Bury : futur », ils seront coachés pour écrire des récits de fiction spéculative très courts (ou « flash fiction »). La fiction spéculative est un genre vaste englobant notamment la science-fiction, la fantasy, le réalisme magique, l’horreur et le surnaturel, mais l’accent sera mis ici sur l’imagination du futur de Bury.

For the 2026 – 2027 season, the free mentoring & workshops will be offered online, through email and Zoom. Participants will also be encouraged to enter Bury Lit’s first writing competition, running from December 2026 to April 2027 (details to be announced next month). All programs will be offered in English and French.

The three categories for this season, for the mentoring, workshops, and competition, are captured by the title of this season’s program: ‘Bury Past, Present & Future’.

For the Bury Past category, writers will be mentored to write memoirs or biographies, bringing alive the past culture and stories of Bury and the wider region. For the Bury Present category, writers will be mentored to create modern poetry that reflects aspects of Bury in the present, and for the Bury Future category, writers will be coached to write speculative flash fiction (very short fiction) pieces. Speculative fiction is a broad genre which can include science fiction, fantasy, magical realism, horror and the supernatural, but the focus will be on imagining Bury’s future.

Remarque: Matthew est actuellement en train de recruter d’autres mentors bénévoles, anglophones comme francophones, pour participer au programme.
